Created in Venice, Italy, millefiori beads-also known as mosaic beads-are renowned for their vibrant colors and intricate patterns. The "millefiori" technique involves layering colored glass canes, called murrine, into captivating patterns, which are then sliced and formed into individual beads. These Venetian glass beads were not only treasured for their beauty but also played an important role in African trade, especially in Ghana, where they symbolized wealth and status. Today, they are prized collectors' items, linking cultures and celebrating Venetian craftsmanship.
