Handmade African Beaded Bracelet – Interlocking Glass Trade Beads

Discover the beauty of African craftsmanship with this stunning handmade beaded bracelet, featuring glass beads crafted by the Krobo people of Ghana, West Africa. These exquisite beads are inspired by antique Bohemian interlocking trade beads, blending tradition with modern style.

  • Inner Circumference (unstretched): Approximately 6 3/4" (17 cm), comfortably fits wrists up to 8" (21 cm).
  • Round Bead Size: 14 mm in diameter.
  • Interlocking Bead Size: Approximately 17 mm in length.

Handcrafted from recycled glass bottles and other materials, these beads are created through an eco-friendly process. The glass is crushed into a fine powder, placed into molds, and then fired in a traditional firewood kiln. Each bead is individually shaped, making every bracelet one-of-a-kind.

YOUR BRACELET WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).

The Art of Krobo Beads & African Trade Beads

The people of Krobo in Ghana have been crafting these beautiful beads for generations, using sustainable methods passed down through time. The art of making these beads is deeply rooted in Ghanaian culture, symbolizing wealth, trade, and community. Each bead carries historical significance, echoing the legacy of African trade beads that once connected cultures and traditions across continents.

Brass elements in African jewelry are made using the intricate lost wax casting technique, an ancient method where a wax mold is sculpted, covered in clay, and fired to create unique brass designs. This meticulous process ensures every piece of jewelry holds a unique character and rich cultural significance.
