These exquisite beads are made by artisans in the Krobo region of Ghana using small recycled glass seed beads as raw material. The process starts with the collection and cleaning of these small beads. These small beads are then placed into clay molds that determine the shape and size of the larger beads. The molds are fired in a kiln at high temperatures, fusing the small glass beads together to form larger beads. Once cooled, the beads are polished or refined to smooth out any rough edges, resulting in non-translucent, vibrant beads with intricate patterns.
