💎 History, Value & Craftsmanship
Chevron beads were developed on the Venetian island of Murano in the late 15th century. Known also as Rosetta beads, they are crafted through the drawn glass technique-fusing layers of different colored glass into a cane, pulling it long, slicing it into segments, and grinding the ends to form a starburst pattern. These beads were widely used as trade goods across Africa, prized for their visual impact, symbolic meaning, and value. The striped 4-layer variation, especially when documented in references like Picard, is highly collectible.
