The technique behind Venetian millefiori, or "thousand flowers," involves fusing multiple layers of colored glass rods, or "murrine," to create intricate, mosaic-like patterns. This bead was carefully handcrafted in Venice, then transported to Africa, where such beads were prized as symbols of wealth, artistry, and trade value, especially in Ghana and other West African regions. Over time, these antique glass trade beads became essential cultural artifacts, cherished for their artistry and role in cross-continental history.
