They are perfect for collectors, designers, or anyone seeking a meaningful piece of bead history.
History and Craftsmanship of Venetian Chevron Beads
Venetian Chevron beads-also known as Rosetta beads-have been made on the island of Murano since the late 15th century. While classic Chevrons feature a star pattern and layered construction made through the cane drawing technique, Awale Chevrons are drawn glass beads pulled into long tubes, cut into smaller sections, and fire-polished to soften their edges.
These beads played an important role in African trade, often used as currency and worn as symbols of wealth and heritage. Their size, color, and style made them versatile and culturally significant. Today, they remain deeply appreciated by collectors and artisans around the world.
