This exquisite piece, wound with intricate trail decoration, exemplifies the artistry of antique Venetian beads. The bead’s history and craftsmanship are deeply intertwined with African trade, where these beads were exchanged for goods and held significant cultural value. Venetian lampwork beads are crafted by winding molten glass around a mandrel, creating durable and unique beads. This ancient technique has been perfected in Venice for centuries, and the beads played an essential role in trade throughout West Africa, especially in Ghana, where they were highly sought after.
