These Antique Venetian Chevron beads -also known as Old Chevron Beads, Chevron Glass Beads, or Rosetta Beads - were made using a labor-intensive multi-layer cane technique. The process began with multiple layers of colored glass rods fused together, often in star or rosette patterns. Once the cane was cooled, it was sliced and carefully ground into individual beads, revealing their characteristic pointed star design on both ends.

Handcrafted in Venice, Italy, these beads were highly valued by traders and became key trade items in West Africa during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Their historical significance, intricate artistry, and rarity continue to make them a prized possession among bead collectors, historians, and jewelry artisans.
