💎 History, Value & Craftsmanship
Chevron beads-also known as Rosetta beads-originated in Venice, Italy, during the late 15th century and were produced primarily on the island of Murano. Crafted using the drawn glass technique, artisans layered different colors of molten glass into a cane, stretched it, and sliced it into beads. The ends were then ground to reveal the iconic starburst cross-section. These beads were traded extensively throughout Africa in the early 1900s, prized for their vibrant appearance, symbolic value, and craftsmanship.
This matching round strand reflects both the artistry of Venetian glassmakers and the cultural significance of beads in global trade. A beautiful relic of history and craftsmanship.
