💎 History, Value & Craftsmanship
Chevron beads (also known as Rosetta beads) were first created in Venice on the island of Murano in the late 15th century. Made using the drawn glass technique, artisans fused layers of differently colored molten glass into a cane, pulled it into rods, and then cut and ground each piece to reveal its iconic star-shaped cross-section. These beads became highly valued in Africa and other parts of the world, often functioning as currency, ceremonial pieces, or status symbols.
This bead is a perfect example of Venetian craftsmanship and historical significance-an exceptional addition to any collection of antique trade beads.
