History and Craftsmanship

The "Lost Wax" technique is an ancient process that has been used for centuries in Africa to create intricate brass and bronze beads. In this method, a wax model of the bead is first sculpted, and a clay mold is formed around it. The wax is melted and drained, leaving a cavity where molten brass is poured. Once the brass has cooled, the mold is broken to reveal the bead, ensuring that no two beads are exactly alike.

Brass beads have held significant cultural and historical importance in Ghana. Used as currency, adornment, and status symbols, they have been part of the rich legacy of African craftsmanship. Today, they are admired for their aesthetic beauty and the remarkable skill involved in their creation.
