Each bead is handmade from recycled glass, including bottles and other glass items. The glass is ground into a fine powder, placed into molds, and carefully transformed into these vibrant, intricate beads. Artisanal Technique
The creation of these beads is a centuries-old tradition in Kroboland. Artisans meticulously crush recycled glass into powder, layering it in molds to shape the beads. Using wooden or metal tools, they etch or paint intricate motifs, making each bead one of a kind.
Firing Process
Once decorated, the beads are fired in a clay kiln at high temperatures, fusing the glass and solidifying the designs.
