Elevate your jewelry collection with this exquisite blue beaded glass necklace, a true masterpiece of African craftsmanship. This necklace is meticulously handcrafted using Krobo glass beads and finished with an intricately designed Ashanti brass clasp. Each bead is created from recycled glass, reflecting Ghana's commitment to sustainability and traditional artistry.
- Necklace Length: 22 1/2 inches (57 cm)
- Bead Size: 10 - 11 mm in diameter
- Brass Bead Size: Approx. 26 x 10 x 7 mm
- Material: Glass beads, brass beads, 1.5mm Korean cord
- Handcrafted in: Ghana, West Africa
The glass beads are handmade by skilled artisans in Krobo, Ghana, using an ancient technique. Recycled glass bottles are crushed into a fine powder, carefully placed into molds, and then fired in a traditional firewood kiln. This process gives the beads their unique, semi-translucent blue color with natural variations, making each necklace a one-of-a-kind piece.
Completing this necklace is the stunning Ashanti brass clasp, crafted by artisans in Kumasi, Ghana, using the lost wax technique. Each clasp is individually molded in wax before being cast in brass, a process that ensures no two clasps are exactly alike.
Trade beads have played a significant role in African history, symbolizing wealth, trade, and cultural identity. Worn for generations, these beads hold deep meaning and continue to be cherished for their beauty and history.
YOUR NECKLACE WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE ONE SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).
