The glass beads are handcrafted by the Krobo people of Ghana using a time-honored technique. Recycled glass bottles are crushed into a fine powder, placed into molds, and fired in traditional wood-burning kilns. This process creates the distinctively rich colors and textures of Krobo beads, making them highly valued in African trade bead history.
The brass beads are masterfully crafted in the Ashanti region using the ancient "Lost Wax" technique. Each bead is individually formed from a wax mold, which is destroyed after casting, ensuring that every bead is truly one of a kind. This meticulous process has been used for centuries to produce intricate brass jewelry and artifacts.
Trade beads have played a significant role in African history, symbolizing wealth, culture, and artistic expression. Today, they continue to be cherished for their beauty and cultural heritage.
YOUR NECKLACE WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE ONE SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).
