The brass beads in this necklace are meticulously crafted using the ancient lost wax technique by skilled artisans in the Ashanti region of Ghana (Kumasi). Each bead requires a handmade wax mold, which is destroyed after casting, making every brass bead truly one of a kind.
The vibrant glass beads originate from the Krobo people of Ghana. These beads are made by crushing recycled glass bottles into a fine powder, which is then placed in clay molds and fired in traditional wood-burning kilns. This sustainable process has been practiced for generations, preserving the rich history of African bead-making.
Trade beads like these have played a significant role in African history, serving as symbols of wealth, status, and cultural identity. Today, they continue to be cherished for their unique beauty and the stories they carry.
YOUR NECKLACE WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE ONE SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).
