Handmade Beaded Bracelet – African Glass & Brass Beads
Elevate your style with this exquisite beaded bracelet, handcrafted in Ghana, West Africa. This stunning piece features a mix of vibrant glass beads and intricately designed brass beads, strung on a durable elastic stretch cord for a comfortable, slip-on fit.
Bracelet Details:
- Inner circumference (unstretched): Approximately 6 3/4" (17 cm)
- Fits wrist size up to: 8" (21 cm)
- Bead sizes: 6 - 10 mm in diameter
The brass beads, expertly crafted in the Ashanti region (Kumasi, Ghana), are created using the ancient "Lost Wax" casting technique. Each bead is made from a unique wax mold that is destroyed after casting, making every piece truly one of a kind.
The glass beads, originating from Krobo land in Ghana, are produced using a centuries-old technique. Recycled glass bottles and other glass materials are crushed into a fine powder, carefully placed into molds, and fired in traditional firewood kilns. The result is a breathtaking array of colors and patterns that make each bracelet a unique work of art.
YOUR BRACELET WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).
Trade beads hold a significant cultural and historical value in Ghana and across Africa. Once used as currency in trade, they continue to represent a rich heritage of craftsmanship and artistic expression. By wearing this bracelet, you are not only embracing a beautiful accessory but also supporting the artisans who preserve this extraordinary tradition.
