Authentic African Brass Beads Handmade in Ghana - 22.5" Strand

Authentic African Brass Beads Handmade in Ghana - 22.5" Strand

This beautiful matching strand of African brass beads is meticulously handcrafted by the people of Ashanti in Ghana, West Africa, using the ancient lost wax technique. Each bead is created from a handmade wax mold, which is destroyed in the process, making every bead a unique work of art.

The strand measures bead-to-bead:

  • Length: 22.5" (57 cm)
  • Bead Size: 37-40 mm in length and 10 mm in diameter

YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).

These beads are 100% handmade by the talented artisans of Ashanti, ensuring that no two strands are alike. The lost wax technique, an ancient method passed down through generations, involves carving a detailed wax model for each bead. After applying a clay mold, the wax is melted and replaced by molten brass, resulting in stunning beads with intricate designs.

Brass beads hold deep historical significance in Ghana, often used as a symbol of wealth, power, and tradition. These beads have been cherished in African culture for centuries and continue to be used in ceremonial and cultural practices today.
