Discover the beauty and craftsmanship of our Handmade Ghana Krobo Glass Beads. These exquisite beads, made from recycled glass, are a testament to the skill and tradition of the Krobo people from Ghana, West Africa. Each strand is carefully crafted to ensure a smooth and polished surface, making them a perfect addition to any jewelry collection.

  • Strand Length: 23" (58.5 cm)
  • Bead Size: 14 mm in diameter

YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).

The process begins with recycling bottles and other glass items, which are then crushed into a fine powder. This powder is meticulously poured into molds and fired in kilns, transforming them into these stunning beads. Each bead is 100% handmade, ensuring that your strand will be identical to the one shown in the photograph (given normal variation since these beads are all completely handmade).

The technique of making these recycled powder glass beads has been passed down through generations in Kroboland. This intricate process not only showcases the artistry of the Krobo people but also highlights the importance of trade beads in Ghana and Africa. These beads have historically been used as a form of currency and for ceremonial purposes, playing a significant role in African culture and trade.

I am in Bead Heaven.

I love the quality and beauty of the beads I ordered. I have only seen ones sold in the states. There is no comparison. I am so glad I found you. I also appreciate your timely responses and the care in which you send your packages.
