Discover the rich heritage of Ghana with this exquisite strand of New Brass Beads, meticulously crafted by the skilled artisans of the Ashanti people in West Africa. Employing the ancient "Lost Wax" technique, each bead in this strand is a testament to the unique cultural practices preserved through generations.

Product Details:

  • Length: Approximately 21 3/4 inches (55 cm) – measured from bead to bead
  • Bead Sizes: Varying from 23 mm to 27 mm in length and 9 mm to 11 mm in diameter

Each bead is formed from a handmade wax mold that is destroyed after casting, ensuring that no two beads are identical. This method not only highlights the individuality of each bead but also the intricate craftsmanship involved.

PLEASE NOTE: YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).

The Lost Wax technique is a storied art form that involves creating a wax model of the item to be cast, surrounding it with a ceramic shell that hardens and is then melted away, leaving a detailed mold. This mold is then filled with molten brass to form these stunning beads. This process not only ensures the high quality of each bead but also connects them to the long history of brass bead craftsmanship in Ghana, which is valued for its beauty and durability.
