Authentic African Brass Beads from Ghana, 15mm Round - TribalGH

Introducing our exquisite collection of round brass beads, meticulously handcrafted by the skilled artisans of the Ashanti people in Ghana, West Africa. Using the ancient and revered lost wax technique, each bead in this strand is a testament to the artistry and tradition of Ghanaian craftsmanship.

Strand Details:

  • Length of strand: approximately 20 1/4 inches (51.5 cm) from bead to bead
  • Bead Diameter: approximately 15 mm

Each bead starts as a unique hand-made wax model, which is then encased in a clay mold. The wax is melted and drained away, and molten brass is poured in, forming the bead as the mold is destroyed. This labor-intensive process means that no two beads are exactly alike, ensuring that your strand is truly one-of-a-kind.

YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).

Lost Wax Technique & Ghanaian Brass Beads:

The lost wax casting process is a hallmark of African metalwork, particularly among the Ashanti people of Ghana. Brass beads have been significant in Ghanaian culture for centuries, not only as adornments but also as mediums of exchange and symbols of status and identity. Today, they continue to be celebrated for their beauty and cultural value.
